Oscar’s journey is an inspiring one that showcases the power of hard work and determination. Despite starting his journey at a young age and facing language barriers, he never lost sight of his passion for business. Growing up in Guadalajara, at the age of 12 Oscar was already managing his fathers ice cream shop. The experience only fueled his desire to succeed in the world of business, and by the time he was 16, he had moved to the US permanently. Starting out with nothing but a cooler full of burritos and a dream, Oscar began selling tacos by the name of Tacos La Tapatia around Coors Stadium during the Rockies’ games. When the season ended, he started selling burritos at night, saving up enough money to buy a food cart to start selling hot dogs and burritos around the city. Eventually, his wife, Rocio Aguilera, began working at a daycare, and the owner asked Oscar to provide food for the children. This marked the start of his catering business, Little Angels Food Services.

For years, Oscar and Rocio worked tirelessly, cooking food late into the night and sleeping only a few hours before delivering it to customers. Despite the long hours and hard work, Oscar never lost sight of his dream to build a successful business. Today, Little Angels Food Services serves 30 schools and is projected to make $2 million by the end of the year. But Oscar’s dream doesn’t stop there – he wants to open another food truck or lease a space to continue serving his beloved Tacos La Tapatia, with the ultimate goal of overtaking fast food giants like Taco Bell and Chipotle. From pushing ice cream cars at 12 years old to starting a successful catering business, Oscar’s drive to succeed is evident in every step of his journey.

Oscar and Rocio are also the recipients of the 2023 SBA Colorado Small Business Wall of Fame Award! Congratulations on this an incredible and well-deserved achievement for Oscar and Rocio and the successes of their determination to Tacos La Tapatia.
