CEDS Finance is excited to celebrate the grand opening of Two Lazy Dogs as one of the first completed success stories from the CEDS Marketing Strategy & Support Program. Created to help small businesses reach their long-term goals, the program gives entrepreneurs access to practical marketing support, experienced consultants, and resources to help bring their vision to life. Two Lazy Dogs owner Chase Phillips was selected to participate in the pilot cohort due to the restaurant’s strong concept and community-centered vision. After an initial assessment by the marketing team, CEDS Finance paired Chase with StorySpring Consulting to support social media execution, visual branding, messaging, and launch preparations for its May 14 grand opening.

Inspired by the two dogs behind its name, Two Lazy Dogs blends a playful, mission-driven concept throughout the space, featuring dog-themed food and drinks alongside a community bulletin board showcasing adoptable dogs and ongoing partners

hips with local humane societies and animal rescue organizations.

The partnership with the marketing program helped build strong online anticipation leading up to launch, especially given the venue’s location in the former home of a once-beloved space familiar to Denver residents. Friends, family, and communitymembers attended the grand opening on May 14, with Denver Mayor Mike Johnston also in attendance to celebrate the occasion.

Two Lazy Dogs represents the first of many businesses expected to benefit from the program. At the end of May, the program will expand from an initial two-business pilot to a full cohort of 12 businesses within the Denver-metro area, with additional cohorts planned soon. As the program continues to grow, CEDS Finance looks forward to supporting more entrepreneurs in building stronger brands, reaching new audiences, and creating long-term, sustainable success across Denver’s small business community.
